Imagine living in an environment where people are so sensitive that every feeling you have is reflected on their faces. It's intense and beautiful to live like this and none of it would be possible without Bhagwan's presence. Just as it feels when a beloved friend of yours comes into your house - there is a new presence and energy there- that's how it feels here with Bhagwan in our valley. His essence penetrates everywhere.

This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Bodhichitta. It is "Exhibit A-2342" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I come from a family of well-educated and "respectable" people - Phi Betta Kappas, architects, a rich uncle who was wellknown in society. I have a college degree myself and have had an all-American family of my own, at one time. None of this has given me the fulfillment or aliveness I have found living around Bhagwan.

Imagine working (we call it 'worshipping') 12 hours a day and having plenty of energy left over to play at night.

If you've ever read any of Bhagwan, if you can really hear Him, He has a depth of understanding of human beings that no philosopher or intellectual can come close to.

He understands us better than any psychologist can ever hope to. He exudes love and we get drunk with it - just come and see the light in the eyes of the people here, and see His eyes!

Something extraordinary is happening here and it will be foolish to miss it because of the fear. When a person starts to open through Bhagwan he gets closer and closer to his potential, and what used to be "effort" and "work" becomes light and easy and pure pleasure.

Imagine if business people and politicians and cynical people would become like this, what kind of world we could have - a thriving and happy planet.

It's time to appreciate this gift that has come to us.

Love.
