This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Deva Leena. It is "Exhibit A-1972" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

July 1983, RAJNEESHPURAM

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I’ve always had a full and interesting life. After completing my degree in Librarianship at the Royal Danish Library School in 1976, I obtained a position in the central public library of Copenhagen. At this time, my interest in psychology was deep and I had started studies at the University of Copenhagen, where I attained a B.A. degree in psychology in 1978. During my time at the University, I came in contact with the books of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and I immediately realized that something unique was happening. Nothing I had ever read before, had such depths of understanding. A few years after first hearing of Bhagwan, I took the jump into sannyas, and it has been the most beautiful thing in my life.

More and more of my own potential became available to me through his work, his energy and love. The energy of the whole Buddhafield he creates around him functions as a catalyst for discovering inner treasures and new creativity. Living in Rajneeshpuram, I constantly receive inspiration and guidance through his presence, and even now in his silence I am in direct communication with him. The worship that is happening here has a totally different quality than the work I have done elsewhere. I’m constantly inspired to explore new fields, things I never thought I would be able to do. Organizing large groups or figuring out mathematical problems has become a challenge that I jump into and learn from. The amount of work we all do here to make this land become beautiful and rich can only happen because of the inner guidance and inspiration we receive from this unique man.
