This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Dhyan Anekant (Paula Aerts). It is "Exhibit A-2154" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Dear Sir,

I’ve heard the news that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has been refused to immigrate into the United States.

I don’t understand this refusal, because of my experience that he is a unique Master.

My name is Dhyan Anekant and I'm a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh since January 1981.

Before I had a catholic education and I've studied psychology. As I didn't feel satisfied with myself, I bagan to search for essential values of life. Three years ago I read the book 'I am the gate'. While reading this, I realised that I could find more than I had ever experienced in my catholic education.

So I went to Poona (India) and through meditations and inner growth groups during six weeks, I realised that I had to follow this path, to come closer to my real self.

The last two years I went t Rajneeshpuram and enjoyed it very much to be in the presence of Bhagwan.

I hope that this refusal will not be definite and that the U.S. authorithies will review their decision.

Best regards,
[signed]
