This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Dhyan Ida (Ida Linse). It is "Exhibit A-1003" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Amsterdam, July 16th, 1983

To whom it may concern,

Since several years I work as a drama-teacher in the educational field. Under my students are mainly young people in the age of 16-22 year, who are trained to be social worker.

I bacame interested in Bhagwan's work around 1978. In I980

I had the opportunity to travel to the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh Ashram in Poona, where I became His discipel.

For me, as a drama- therapist then, His teachings and presence were a break-through to continue my work with an immense joy, love and attention.

As well as to me as to many, many others, Bhagwans work as a spiritual Master who teaches us to live life in an immensly happy way, based on the principle of : giving ( on individuals and groups), Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has been and still is of great value, as someone who shares inconditionally His great insights with everyone who comes.

In these days, where we have the choice to make out of this world a hell or a paradise, His work is important as never before.

Sincerely yours,
