This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Divyam Jutta (Jutta Bellwinkel-Ehrlich). It is "Exhibit A-2192" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To Whom It May Concern

I am a school teacher and I teach children from 6 to 15 years old. I graduated from the University of Hamburg in 1974 and I qualified as a teacher in 1977. I've been a government employee since then.

I first heard of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh 3 years ago. There had been very negative TV- and press reports about what was going on in Poona. But I sensed then that this religious teacher in India was the one person on earth who could help me out of my utterly unhappy and chaotic psychological state. I came into contact with sannyasins, did therapeutical groups in Rajneesh centers and got real help from them to cope with my life. Last January I spent a Healing Week in Medina Rajneesh Neo-Sannyas Commune in England where I felt like being surrounded by an ocean of love. I wanted to stay close to this love and then decided to take sannyas, become a Rajneeshee.

I'm sure that my being a Rajneeshee will be a great advantage to the pupils who I work with. Till now I didn't do my work lovingly - in fact, I didn't know anything about love. I'm starting to find a way to love. The essence of teaching, to prepare a situation, an atmosphere where someone can learn is now my priority.

In my opinion, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, is the most intelligent and loving teacher there is. He teaches the essential things.

In love,
