This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Kranti Manjusha (Miss Takako Noguchi). It is "Exhibit A-2662" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

August 5th, 1983.

Ma Kranti Manjusha,

To Whom it May Concern,

My chance to become a sannyasin came about by my friend who introduced me to Bhagwan’s books. After, I visited a Rajneesh Meditation Center. Here while meditating I started to watch myself and at the same time I felt every sannyasin was tied to Bhagwan with a deep trust and sincere love.

I guess everyone has physical problems and mental sufferings, but in the case of mental sufferings, even if one talks with other people it does not help a great deal. I had such a problem for several years and felt very close to death. Then I met Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

While writing this letter I can not tell exactly why I became a sannyasin, all I can say is that while reading His books I was engulfed in His cosmic love. Bhagwan has gone into silence and is not talking directly to us, but for us sannyasin His verbal communication has been said and are all recorded in His many books.

There is no dissatisfaction of any kind from this. If anybody has a question, they can write a letter to Bhagwan and they will get an answer from Him.

I suppose this will appear to be a little unnatural to you. however for us sannyasins it is natural, because we are tied into His deep love which goes beyond the world of words.

I became a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh on the 9th of July 1982. Thank you for reading this letter.

Sincerely yours,
Miss Takako Noguchi
Ma Kranti Manjusha.
