This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Bhagwan’s presence made it possible to the Sannyasins living here to make a paradise out of this desert. I have been in business life in Europe and I have a realistic idea of organisation and time table; I can say that this is a wonder and only possible because of the presence of a living Master - Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh - a master of the same importance as Jesus and Buddha. I am so happy to be born into a time where a living Master is available - this happens only once in a while - and that I have found him. I have travelled a lot and lived in the most famous religious and therapeutic Communes in Europe, but everywhere something was missing: a man of the quality of Bhagwan. Even the most hightly qualified therapist, artist or priest is not enough to be the center of a Commune. An Enlightened Master as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is a must if you want to go beyond outside changes, lifestyle - or belief changes to attain a new kind of man being able to live in freedom and in tune with existence. I would like to make it really clear that it was not out of social misery - and this is true for so many high qualified Sannyasins - that I became a disciple of Bhagwan. Bhagwan leads me beyond perfection performance. He is not a therapist, he leads me into existence itself to the source of my nature. It is very important for me to be in heart to heart Communion with Bhagwan. I have been in Poona to his lectures, I read his books and listened to his tapes, but this state of Communion beyond words sounding the very core of my being is very important for me. Filled with his Energy I will go back to the Ashram in West Germany where I am living and working, where through our work in our Restaurant, Disco, Medical Center, Meditation Center, all kinds of people get a taste of Him -Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh - and where I can grow and go step by step to the freedom to be with Bhagwan’s help and presence.
