Testimonial letter from Ma Prem Ajita (Dutch)

This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. This is a rare handwritten letter which has neat enough handwriting for the OCR to work, so it has been transcribed. It suffers from a slightly off-center photocopy, so a few words are cut off on the right. Those cut-off words have been guessed / restored by the wiki in [square brackets]. 3.08.83 Eindhoven To whom it may concern The first time that I read one of Bhagwan's books resulted in a complete change in my way of life. It was a kind of coming home. He was giving so many indications about so many subjects. All of it was so clear that I bought more books , I went to a meditation center for information , started listening to tapelectures and participating in the meditationtechnics . Try to share with Friends what it had given to me. Some of them became suspicious, some began reading the books. After half a year the feeling to take sannyas was there I hesitated for a while , but then finally it became a celebration . I already had been wearing orange clothes for some months . The day I asked for sannyas I put on new red clothes and went to the nearrest meditationcenter for a sannyasform , filled it out and wrote a letter to Bhagwan . Posted it and went with a friend to a nice restaurant to celebrate it . Some weeks later the answer arrived with my new name and a beatiful inspiring guidance for me. I went to another meditationcenter for a mala (neckla[ce]) and then it started really. I was a sannyasin of a man I had never seen before . I felt great tr[ust] in this beautiful man. I had discussion about Bhagwan with different people who argued against him , although I put a lot off effort into convincing them about my point of view Untill finally I myself had a qeustion. Is there an argument for love? No. So from that moment on I never argued about Bhagwan anymore . And I understood that it is a individuel relationship with a master. Last year I received a beautiful present, the money to buy a ticket to visit him in Rajneeshpuram (expression of rajneesism). The first time I saw Bhagwan in person having been a disciple for two years, I knew that I needed this man as my religious master and felt thankfull for his being there. He is teaching in silence with so much love and understanding , that it is almost unbelievable. Belief is'nt necessary , he is, alive and you're welcome to visit Rajneeshpuram any day. Rajneeshpuram is blossoming into something really beautiful inspired by His love. Sannyas, what is it?
