This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

Sir or Madam,

With this letter I would like to impart my experience regarding the extraordinary presence of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, as well as his large contribution to the level of understanding of the human being.

In brief I knew Bhagwan, at the beginning by reading some of his discourses. After I made contact with a sannyas centre where each day there were meditations of various forms that Bhagwan had created so that modern man could come closer to his inner center where the body is not abandoned, for it is by exercise, dance, breathing that the body and spirit become more healthy and more alive.

For a long time Bhagwan has taken care of his disciples, he is open and gives much in his capacity of spiritual leader. By his presence, it is a quality of energy that cannot leave one cold.

In effect I had the chance to feel his presence in satsangs where we found ourselves all united, heart to heart, with the master. That occured during the festival at the beginning of July where people came from everywhere in the world, to meet Bhagwan; the festival was organised beautifully by his disciples in the community of Rajneeshpuram.

Apart from that, in past years I took courses in social sciences during my high school studies, and after I took some sessions at university in Art. Since that time, I worked at the level of artisan in a handicraft studio with handicapped persons, students, and adults, and in addition I worked with compensation for persons who had been in road accidents for the automobile insurance company of the government in Quebec.

It goes without saying that my life is transformed positively since I met Bhagwan, and that brought me an understanding and a respect for human beings and for the society.

Doubtless you understand that we need beings like Bhagwan to help the world to grow spiritually.

Thank you for your attention.

My sincere greetings,
[signed]
Ma Prem Ekta
