This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Prem Lino. It is "Exhibit A-1486" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I would like to share with you the extent that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has influenced my life creatively, religiously and artistically.

I have been involved and interested in the arts and sciences all my life. In fact, it was attending the University of Oregon Architectural School in 1980 that I first came across the teachings of Bhagwan, in a book called "Only One Sky" and found the perfect connection between art, science and religion that I had been searching for. Until then every avenue of artistic expression and scientific exploration that I had come across seemed finite, limiting and lacking some then unknown essential quality.

Bhagwan is the flower of mankind. His teachings alone are the most sophisticated, intelligent, poetic and direct guidances of this era. The combination of love and awareness that one feels in His physical presence has opened many avenues of expression within my own heart and the hearts of many, many others.

I experienced this phenomenon once more during the Second Annual World Celebration held here this July in Rajneeshpuram.

I was completely amazed at the depth of my feelings and joy that came to light just by being in the physical presence and enjoying the pregnant silences of Bhagwan.

And this wonder of inner growth is always expanding -even after 3 years of being with Bhagwan. I am each day newly feeling as though there is much more love happening in my life than I have ever dreamed possible and I am living in a constant state of amazement at the potential of mankind that I see realized in Bhagwan and unfolding in His lovers.

Now, in my work, which is indeed my worship, all avenues of expression open and flower; and the garden I tend here does indeed become physically more beautiful each day; perhaps to reflect the beauty I feel around me all day, each day, I spend here in the presence of Bhagwan.

Love, and His blessings,
[signed]
Ma Prem Lino
