This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Prem Pantha. It is "Exhibit A-1906" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To Whom it may concern,

This is to express my disappointment to the fact that such an extraordinary country as the U.S. seems to limit itself in not taking the unique chance to welcome in gratitude a unique human being as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

Travelling through many of the U.S. states I enjoyed not only the most beautiful landscapes, but mostly the open spirit and hospitality of the inhabitants.

Holding a M.A. of Fine Arts and German Language myself I would like to point out how much Bhagwan has influenced both my professional as well as my inner growth. I was blessed enough to listen to His exceptional discourses personally and enjoy His presence through personal contact in Darshan and ever since it was Him who highly inspired my work in arts as well as my ability to relate to those people I shared my professional experience with.

Now that He stopped talking I feel the ultimate, most beautiful phase happening. Just His presence inspires a couple of hundred people to allow a roseflower to start blossoming in the desert. The way people are living in the city of Rajneeshpuram is unique on this planet not only now but throughout all centuries.

There has never been a place where people lived and worked together in such peace with so much love and freedom creating even more loving life wherever they start realizing His vision of the human way of celebrating life.

This place happens to be in Oregon... Take the chance.

Prem Pantha
