This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Prem Samidha. It is "Exhibit A-2265" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

As a social worker I worked many years with children. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s approach towards being with children and educating them is very different and exceptional. He wants education to be a digging out of the inner being of a child and not stuffing a kid full of knowledge. There is a lot of trust in the intelligence of each single child. And each person is so individual and beautiful.

Being a disciple since 6 years I experience that the most beautiful thing about Rajneesh disciples if that each one of us is so unique and individual. Bhagwan works with us disciples through His silence. After hearing His teachings many years there is nothing to say anymore, but to meditate and look inside oneself. Sometimes this is not very easy, because there are a lot of painful things to see too, and my feeling is that only in such a loving environment like this commune one can really gather the courage to go deep.

Rajneeshpuram is an oasis in the desert that is founded out of the being and teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. It is a holistic approach to live in harmony with nature, oneself and other people. If you come for a visit you will see yourself with how much intelligence and love this place is created and maintained. This itself is evidence enough that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is an exceptional intelligent person.

Sincerely,
[signed]
Ma Prem Samidha
