It is difficult to describe exactly why, meeting my master as he drives by, feeling his loving energy during satsang a fragrance of ddep love and understanding showers on me. His silence and peacefulness giving me more than every word, every book ever could do, giving me peace and strength inside.

I am happy that in this beautiful country it is possible for my master to stay, America, the country with a worldwide tradition of religious freedom. With all my heart I hope that my master will have the opportunity to stay in America and that by his presence and guidance we can build altogether a peaceful and new way of living in harmony with each other and nature.

I trust in America in welcoming this living loving master and I am grateful I could visit him in this beautiful country.

This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Veet Meera (P. T. Schimmel). It is "Exhibit A-2016" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

As a disciple of Bhagwan Shsree Rajneesh, I am happy to write something about my experience as a sannyasin.

I never felt so peaceful, so happy inside, as during the time that Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh became my master.

It is difficult to describe exactly why, meeting my master as he drives by, feeling his loving energy during satsang a fragrance of ddep love and understanding showers on me. A deep inner contentment with myself and everything surrounding me fills my heart.

Yours faithfully,
