This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

My name is Charlotte Lück, I'm 39 years old and right now I’m working as a psychologist. Before that I worked as a tracer for 12 years. Then I went back to school and finally I obtained the Diploma for Psychology.

During my summervacation in 1980 at the Mediterranean Sea I read the book "Ganz entspannt im Hier und Jetzt". The author is Jörg-Andrees Elten a former reporter of the famous german "STERN"-magazine who visited the Ashram of the Enlightened Master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in Poona (India) for an eyewitness account. I couldn't stop reading this book. I was very fascinated by the teachings and methods of Bhagwan and my only thought in mind was "This is it, that's what I want".

In the same year a new Bhagwan-Center was opened in Cologne. Often I went there to participate in the meditations created by Bhagwan and in groups under the leadership of therapists who were trained by him. In these groups and meditations I experienced a new energy never known before - I call it the Divine inside of my being which makes me happy and gives me the ability to love.

In August 1981 I took Sannyas in Cologne and in summer 1982 I saw Bhagwan for the very first time. I felt a strong energy surrounding him, it made me laughing and crying and gave me a deep feeling of religiousness and love, in spite of his silence and the fact that he never uttered a word to me. This feeling became even deeper when I saw him this year in Rajneeshpuram especially during the Satsang - the silent heart-to-heart-communion between the Master and his disciples. Therefore Bhagwan is the greatest religious teacher I know. He teaches religiousness and love and is able to give these feelings to thousands of people who come into contact with him.

In my work as a psychologist religiousness and love is very inspiring. It helps me to be open to the people I work with, to understand them and to accept them as they are.
