This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ma Yoga Anurag. It is "Exhibit A-2340" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am a translator/editor, of no outstanding standing in the world. But editing Bhagwan's words has been my pride and joy.

Being in His presence and working with His words is like being in a real university--as though my being has been educated, drawn out. Through Him, the real possibilities of life have become available to me and I have experienced myself growing and blooming in the art of life and love through His grace, His presence, His words, His silence.

Bhagwan is incomparably unique in all the world, and this Buddhafield, the City called Rajneeshpuram, is an oasis in the desert of the world. It thrives on its love, life and laughter, which are the context for the work and everything that happens here. By comparison, the world of other cities and their competition and ambition and violence and coldness and separation is like a fate worse than death.

And it is through Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and His exceptional ability that this oasis has bloomed. Who else has transformed so many people? has brought so much light and light and celebration into the world? What greater accomplishment could any artist or scientist strive for?

Yours sincerely,

Ma Yoga Anurag
