This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Nicholas M. Parkyn Bsc. It is "Exhibit A-2387" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

BHAGWAN SHREE RAJNEESH

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN :

After a period of seventeen years devoted to study, at some of the more renowned educational establishments in England, including Shrewsbury School and Lanchester Polytechnic, I started travelling.

Mostly my work involved marine engineering projects but sometimes land based engineering, in all parts of the world. In the work there was contact with many highly skilled and knowledgeable people with great experience of life.

In early 1978, word of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh reached me whilst in Pakistan; during the subsequent year, I read his books and talked with some of the people who had met him. In the year following, I finished a contract in Mombassa, Kenya, and flew to India to see Bhagwan.

During the years since I first met him, while he gave discourse and especially since he went into silence, my life has blossomed. So many of the problems that seemed to limit my life have dropped away. Although I cannot speak for others, it is my observation that everyone who comes into contact with Bhagwan is blessed.

That Bhagwan is a man of exceptional ability is beyond question. There is no-one in my whole experience as this Man.

With all good wishes,

Sincerely,
[signed]
Nicholas M. Parkyn BSc
