TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

As a filmmaker and actor there is something that needs to be mentioned abzu the unexpected and paradoxical connections with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. During my graduation period in the film institute in Poona/India (the only film academy for the whole of India under the ministry of information and broadcasti(?) the enquiry and interest into the area of creativity, revealed some very significant and deeptouching aspects to me.

One observation was that nature is the most perfect example of the creator and creativity and the process of creation which we are trying to reconstruct and imitate, is happening in nature in an immensely rich and profundly beautiful way.

The films which I made during the period 1965 - 1970 (two of those films titled "Black and White" and "Hair" had been entries to verious international Film Festivals and had won certificates and special mention in Montreal and Oberhausen (West Germany) Short Film Festivals) reflects some things of these obeservations.

In the films of some of the filmmakers like Robert Flaherty, Walt Disney, Satyajit Ray etc. it was visible that the people who had allowed nature to inspire and overtake their moments of creativity, came out with some of the very beautiful creations.

But when a man has become so much in tune with nature, that he remains in constant, conscious touch with the principle of creativity, he himself becomes the art, he becomes the living creation and his whole life filled with the charm and magnificience of creativity.

When I came across some writings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh it touched me very deeply, because here is a man, who has leaped beyond the conditioned limited personal basis to an insightful attuned state with nature. In the East the mystics in such states had called the world "Leela", meaning a mystical play and here is a man in whom this insight felt so alive. During one of the breaks in movie shootings (where I was working as an actor in the leading role) meeting him was very significant. His indication that acting is one of the "spiritual professions" made much sense to me; because although one is playing different roles one is not all that, and it corresponded to something also of his spiritual insights that our life is mostly identification with different roles given from the outsides, and consciously observing them one comes to touch the essential being which carries the purity and innocense in each person.

Although it is a tremnedous impact to see him, to be able to inbibe that spirit of the continual conscious tuning to the ways of nature to guide in the life is the whole work of self-observation and self discovery, which goes on in me till now !

After many years of experimentation and experiencing the ways of understanding and attunement in connection with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, the film which is in preparation at present titled "Oh. Shakespeare, said Romeo" reflects and embodies the profound insights.

To me he is not only a master artist, but one of the highest and purest creativity in humanform, expressing and manifesting uniquely, carrying the depths of silence abd heights of playful aliveness. He is an unvaluable phenomen who is an inspiration to artists and intense human endeavour. Hear him the diversities reveal their inherent unity and harmony, where contradictories reveal their compli-mentariness and attain the peaks of creative expression. Like a master gardener who cares for each plant according to its needs, his instructions are very individual and of immense value.

A person of such a deep insight in to human nature and whose presence generates so much liveliness and creative energy needs whole herated support and sympathetic understanding because he is making something available which everyone is conciously or unconsciously seeking.

Sincierly
