Testimonial letter from Philippe Kusnik

This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. This letter is from Philippe Kusnik. It is "Exhibit A-2209" in the Noles collection.

The original letter was handwritten in French, a text transcription has not yet been created. A text version of its translation has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription.

The image in the text box links to a pdf file with the original letter, the translation, and a notary statement attesting to the validity of the translation. It has one page.

translation Actually, the pdf file has only the one handwritten page. No translation was provided with this letter, the only example of such an oversight known so far. OTOH, as this letter and the next one contain almost exactly the same text, though both are individually handwritten, the translation of the next may suffice. It reads, with the personal details (underlined) updated: I the undersigned, Philippe Kusnik, a teacher of Shiatsu massage and Oriental medicine, do hereby declare that I know of Bhagwan and his work through his writings, tapes, and by personal contact with his disciples. I can attest to the high qualification of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and to the exceptional and primordial importance he and the work that is taking place in Rajneeshpuram, is to our society.
