Dear Sirs,

Having taken part in the Second Annual World Festival in Rajneeshpuram, I wish to state how impressed I am by having been with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh during Satsangs and Darshan. These days in his presence have added a new dimension to my life; sitting with him has set all the diverging parts of my mind to peace with each other and thus given me a new outlook on how to accept myself and my life easier and happier.

Through Bhagwan’s presence and through the commune that is growing around him it has shown to me that there is a way for me to find peace within myself. This insight has happened to me just through being in his presence and in this commune and it is deepened every time I see him on his daily drive. It is like a change of Gestalt that happens around him easier.

I consider myself fortunate to have met Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. This extraordinary man has - like nothing in my life before him - connected me with myself and the love within me, and I wish for as many people in this country as possible to have the chance of this meeting. It would be an incredible loss for the U.S. if he left America. Bhagwan is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable men alive.

Over the last twenty years the split between scientific ability and maturity in modern man has been a basic source of interest and concern for me like it is for many other doctors. It has been one of the reasons for me to choose this profession as I see most of today’s problems in the world rooted in each individual being split in this way. This alienation rules modern mans behavior, creates our psychological problems and social tensions up to who we make powerful and how these people deal with tensions between the different societies on earth.

Seeing this I was always very interested in psychological and social experiments that try to bridge the basic split in man. And as I had glimpses in Bhagwan’s presence of how to overcome this split within myself I can see a social experiment being carried out under his guidance in Rajneeshpuram that effectively bridges this split on a social level. It is nothing less then a new way of living together, a fundamentally new orientation of society is being developed, a society that is focused on the human heart and that still adopts science and technology whole heartedly as well and, at the same time, is aware of resources and tries not to deplete them.

It is a very lively, down to earth and practical experiment that is going on here. So few social experiments of this scale are happening today, that humanity cannot afford to blot any of them out. America is blessed to have a few of them happen within this country and Rajneeshpuram is the most promising approach, that I have heard about.

Bhagwan’s presence in Rajneeshpuram is a great inspiration to this experiment. It is very, very fortunate to have every single person work on becoming whole within and overcoming the split in modern man individually and than have all these people together make a new society that, as a commune, overcomes the split. It can only happen under the guidance of a master in a spiritual commune.

Concluding, I want to repeat that out of the experience of taking part in the Second Annual World Festival I came to see Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh as one of the most remarkable people alive, that to be in his presence can be a transforming and healing influence on people and America is therefore blessed by his being here and being available to Americans, and that the commune that develops under his guidence in Rajneeshpuram is a very remarkable and substantial social experiment that should be watched with interest for it’s new ways and approaches to modern man’s problems. Humanity just cannot afford to hinder experiments of this kind. The least the American authorities have the responsibility towards mankind and the American people to do, is to allow Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh to stay and carry on with his work.
