This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Raffaele illegible. It is "Exhibit A-2303" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I took my Masters Degree in Law in 1965 at the University of Genoa, Italy, and then I did a research in sociology and psychology.

I then started therapeutic groups for minors who had been in prison, in re-education schools, and psychiatric hospitals (this from 1963-1969).

For two years I was the director of a cultural group belonging to ANCIFAP (a professional center) and was working with industrialiasts.

From 1971 to 1975 I was the director of a school of rehabilitation for young mental handicapped for the city of Milan whose aim was to bring these minors back to a normal school.

I am now a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. I came in contact with Him through some books and then met him in Oregon. I want to stress how deep is my admiration for such an extraordinary person who has contributed so much to my life. Thanks to Him I have been able to bring to my work a total vision and solve all the dilemmas that sociology and psychology had left unresolved.

I am surprised that the American authorities are not proud of his presence in the states as He is contributing to the progress of human kind and is a worldwide point of attraction.
