This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Robert Schleip. It is "Exhibit A-2153" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is a very well known figur in modern psychology and philosophy. During the past 5-10 years several well known and respected professionals who studied with Rajneesh in India introduced his work and his ideas into our western culture.

Specially here in Germany this had a significant impact in the field of Humanistic Psychology. This means for example that today about 90% of the professional psychotherapists in Germany have heard about him and his ideas! And maybe 20 -30 % of them are consciously using some ideas ore methods from him in their work.

His disciples - all dressed in red clothes - are seen in every German city. Most of them are very intelligent and well educated people. They seem to live up to his ideas regarding " to live life and enjoy it to the fullest"and ”to put your heart into whatever you are doing” and this makes them pretty successfull people - most of them work now in high payed and respected jobs.

If you want to make yourself a picture of Rajneesh’s work I recommend to read any of his books. They are very well distributed and you can find in every bookstore that offers books on esoteric sciences, humanistic philosophy or modern psychotherapy several booeks from or about Rajneesh!

Sincerely
[signed]
