This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from S. A. Reynolds Bsc. It is "Exhibit A-335" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. To Whom It May Concern

I am a Geography graduate of London University and completed my degree course in 1976. In addition to this I have a post graduate diploma in Land Surveying from London University which I gained in 1977. I am a Fellow of The Royal Geographic Society and a Probationery Member of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Publications include "Back Door to West Africa" in the Geographical Magazine.

I am also a main shareholder in Manta Ltd., a company specialising in offshore survey work.

I first came across Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh whilst travelling in India in 1979. Since then I have come to know more of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh through his books, tapes, and centres throughout the world.

Whilst visiting Rajneeshpuram City I have seen an urban developement of exceptionally high standard in terms of urban planning and land use. The inspiration of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh is apparent in all these areas. As a Geography graduate with worldwide travel experience, I can state that the City of Rajneeshpuram is one of the best planned developements that I have come across.

Whilst working offshore as a hydrographic surveyor in oil fields all round the world I have found that the meditation techniques and group therapy methods developed by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh have been of great use to me. They have helped me withstand the problems asociated with isolation and an all male working enviroment, encountered whilst working onboard oil rigs.

Yours Faithfully,
[signed]
(S.A. Reynolds, B.Sc., Dip Surv., F.R.G.S.)
