Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Anand Anado. It is "Exhibit A-1954" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

This letter is in support of the granting of the request for permanent residency in the United States of America to Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, my living spiritual Master.

I used to be a member of the poetry community in New York City during the past decade. One day I met another poetess with the unnusual name of Ma Satya Priya. She said that she was a disciple of a man in India by the name of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. There was something unique, about this poetess, Priya, something unspoken. This intrigued me and I had to meet this man of whom she spoke.

I became a disciple after reading only one chapter of one of his many volumes of pure spontaneous verse. That is all it took, one chapter. In that one chapter I knew that I had finally come in contact with a man, a POET, who not only spoke, but knew the ULTIMATE truth. . In hindsight it seems pretty ludicrous to surrender my life to a Master that I had never physically met. But as I look back further and deeper below the surface, Bhagwan and I had met. We met in that silent realm; we met in that warm assuring space of the heart Our meeting was religious. I had come home to the truth, and only in Silence, Bhagwan was leading me there.

Over the years I have come to experience some of the poetry that He lives every day. These glimpses, these fleeting moments I cherish deep in my heart. I owe these moments to His guidance in these silent communions. This bliss that is "me” has happened through Him. But what is important is that it is now my experience, my own unique poetic expression of being.

My truth, my love is being nurtured every day in the presence of this Silent Sage. Silence as His way of teaching may seem odd to those who have never experienced this phenomenum, but it is real for those of us around Bhagwan and I am forever grateful.

I implore you to give my Master the status of a permanent resident inthe United States of America. This man is a valuable resource, an important addition to this treasure chest called America.

Thank you for your time.

With love,

Swami Anand Anado
