This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Anand Anutosh (Chris Brewer). It is "Exhibit A-1484" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. To whom it may concern.

Being once again near Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, I am acutely aware of the effect His presence has on me.

When I visited His ashram in India I was amazed by the uplifting feeling of being near Him. Here at Rajneeshpuram I am again conscious of the vast difference between the atmosphere and energy level that is His Buddhafield and anywhere else that I have been.

As a trained and certified psychiatric nurse I feel qualified in asserting that the openness and positive attitudes of myself and His sannyasins here, stems from something far more subtle than techniques for personal growth. I have participated in personal growth groups and meditation techniques and in the past utilized aspects of these in my work as a psychiatric nurse. Furthermore I realize that although the techniques can accelerate peoples’ personal growth to a level of adequate functioning in society and more, the presence of Rajneesh is of special significance.

Being near Him and in the high energy field created through Him, as I see it, is the factor missing in attempts of higher growth away from the milieu that surrounds Bhagwan.

Looking around this community of people at Rajneeshpuram, I am so amazed by the positive attitudes and happiness of these people who joyfully work long hours seven days a week. This is such a contrast to the variety of work situations I have been in.

Not only have 1 noticed the sannyasins’ willingness and joy to work but the lack of animosity toward co-ordinators and absence of the competition-jealousy dyad is so refreshing to see.

Seeing Bhagwan daily and being with Him in the celebrations of darshan and satsang I am filled with such joy and the realization that my joy is closely linked with His silent presence.

I feel, without a doubt, that this man Rajneesh is a religious teacher of the highest and rarest quality.

Sincerely
