This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

How to describe being in the commune with my master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh?? I’ll try. It’s something like being amazed a little more each day at how extraordinary each moment can be. My worship here at Rajneeshpuram is fabricating and installing sheet metal ductwork - something that gets easier for me as time passes by. It has something to do with me bringing more awareness into each small thing I do. Bhagwan is that total awareness that I catch a glimpse of now and again. He is that quality of being that rests quietly, joyessly, here and now, and being here with him we all, even if through osmosis pick up a bit of his beauty.

Although building ductwork might seem very ordinary (and it is) the extraordinary does shine through - He shines through.

Now that Bhagwan is in silence his teaching is by just simply being -but for those who listen, His silence is louder than words.

His contribution to humanity cannot be measured by statistics or dollars or facts or figures - it’s not measurable. He is religiousness and to have a religion grow out of a living master and to be a part of it is a miracle.

The extraordinary is here-now. He makes it all possible. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.
