This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Deva Madhupran (Herbert K. Kaltner). It is "Exhibit A-2276" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I am a dental technician and am also working as the manager of a discothek I am running together with some friends.

I would like to convey what Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh means to me: He is the most important person of my life. He has disturbed my sleep, opened up my eyes. As I once thought that the world is at its end, I had dropped out of social life and gave up work. Shortly after that I got a book by Bhagwan which made me curious and thoughtful. I then visited a Rajneesh Meditation Center. I enjoyed the loving atmosphere and I was impressed how beautiful and open the people were with each other. I participated regularly in their meditations and after a few weeks I could feel how my joy for life came back and that an incredible energy developed inside of me. I was able to work as a dental technician again and now I am enjoying this work very much.

In June I travelled to Rajneeshpuram and met my Master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh for the first time in person. This man radiates such love! During satsang where He sat with us in silence, I cried and laughed at the same time. There was no need to hear Him talk, my heart jumped towards Him and I felt blissful.

When I am back in Germany I will share this love with everybody. And I would like as many people as possible to experience this joy that Bhagwan shares with us. I herewith ask you to do everything possible that Bhagwan can stay in this country.
