This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Niren. It is "Exhibit A-2286" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

To Whom it may concern:

I'm a student of law in Germany and a disciple of my Master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. 2 1/2 years ago I read a book of Bhagwan. I travelled to India and I made so many experiments; so I became more alive, more joyfull, more peacefull. This is so amazing, just to feel so much love, living close to Bhagwan and all these disciples.

And even this feeling of inner peace became more strong, when I stayed in Rajneeshpuram for the festival in 1983. It is so beautiful to see Bhagwan once a year, and when I go home to Germany, I like to share all what I got here, that there is nothing to fight, nothing to reach, but just become an ordinary man.

By loving Bhagwan, and there is no need of words, I became a new man. This is what I feel, this is what my parents and friends in Germany also feel.

I feel so grateful that Bhagwan is still alive. Now there is no more seeking, I got what I was looking for a long time. Before I became a disciple I studied and it was useful and successful, but since meeting Bhagwan there is more joy, more inner freedom and also more success, that other students became really interesting and a few of them became also Sannyasin. And I also learned so many things about my body by more consciousness. It is so difficult to explain, because the really important experiment was to sit close to Bhagwan, to feel his presence, his patience. I'm used to explain everything, but there is no way. It is pure love and gracefulness.
