This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Prem Anam. It is "Exhibit A-1577" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Rajneeshpuram, OR 97741
July 21 1983

To whom it may concern:

My association with Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his work began about 10 years ago when I was employed in the architectural profession.

I had previously trained at Willesden College of Technology, London, and qualified as an Associate Member of the Institute of British Designers.

The projects I was mainly involved with were to do with housing, some of which won Greater London Council awards. The course of my work brought up a number of questions about man living in harmony with his environment, and the teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh have answered a lot of those questions. Here at Rajneeshpuram is the example coming into being of a commune where people live together in tune with their environment and with one another.

My personal inquiry led me towards the meditations devised by Bhagwan and to the therapy techniques evolved and developed at the ashram in Poona. I became a Rajneesh therapist, facilitating growth workshops in India, all over Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Bhagwan’s insights into human nature and his approach to therapy, considering the whole being, integrating western psychological approaches with eastern meditation techniques , is beyond any development that has happened so far. This man has a vision that encompasses all aspects of life beyond limitations set by professionals in any category. His extraordinary abilities have inspired people working in the fields of arts and sciences.
