This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Prem Anumoda. It is "Exhibit A-2295" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN :

Shortly after completing my Bachelor of Arts Degree at New England College, I travelled around the world for seven months. During that time I met Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. I have been a disciple of Bhagwan for six and a half years. I. met him personally in India in 1977. He is the most amazing human being I have ever met in my life. His presence has totally transformed me and helped me to grow so much. He has added a dimension to my life that no other person has touched. I feel that this unique human being is an asset to our country and our community. We as Americans should consider ourselves blessed by his presence among us.

In my work, Bhagwan has brought a new dimension of awareness and energy. Working together with these people a new harmony and love that has totally changed my life has arisen. I am eternally grateful with this.

In a world today that seems to be in constant turmoil between opposite political and religious groups, in our own unconscious way we are calling to one like Bhagwan to rise up among us and speak the truth about the way we are and to show us a path of harmony. As always in history, these geniuses are never appreciated in their day and only after they are gone do we wake up to what they were trying to tell us.

I would hope that in your interest for all humanity and particularly Americans, you will welcome Bhagwan among us.

Yours sincerely,

Swami Prem Anumoda
