This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Prem Nisimo. It is "Exhibit A-1750" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I came to Rajneeshpuram to participate in the Second Annual World Celebration. It was also the second time that I could be with my master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh for a couple of days. I am a sannyasin since two years and now I am feeling that I am getting more and more connected to him than ever. Sometimes He reaches me in a deeper level of my being. Now I understand a bit more what He means by "communion", the real master-disciple relationship, where no more words are needed. He reaches those who are open-hearted through His very presence, through His silence, which can only be experienced if oneself is silent, this has become my experience.

But this is very difficult to explain, in fact it cannot be explained exactly, but it can be experienced in deep meditation.

It is His very presence, seeing Him every day, the way He simply is, which encouraged me to live my own way, to meditate. It has become easier to do so, being so close to Him.

Jesus always used to say "eat me, drink me". I think, he also tried to reach his disciples not only by words, but much more through the way he lived. And the second thing, what I found out, that there is "something", which can be called as a different kind of energy between the people. I like to call it "a taste of Bhagwan".

And this is exactly the reason why it is so important for Bhagwan to remain in Rajneeshpuram. This is one of the greatest experiments of inner growth and I hope it can continue.

Yours truly,
Swami Prem Nisimo
