Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

To Whom It May Concern ...

I am writing as I am concerned that my spiritual teacher, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, may not be allowed to stay in the U.S.A.

I was born on a farm in Northern England. When I was 12 my family immigrated to Australia, where I served for 6 years in the Army and became a qualified mechanic. When I received my discharge from the Army I travelled overseas to England, to experience again the wonderful place I was born in. I sensed something missing in my life and I was travelling looking for something. I was also reading many religious and New Age books at this time.

My travels led me to India, where I heard about and visited Bhagwan at the ashram in Poona, where I immediately felt I had found what I was looking for. Since that time four years ago, Bhagwan’s influence has transformed my life.

Experiencing Bhagwan’s unique amazing presence has turned my life completely. I am truly a different person - reborn, you may say.

My wife and I have a very blissful marriage and my work as a mechanic has been transformed into my meditation. Instead of using trial and error to repair cars, I am now able first to be with the car and the heart of the problem comes to me through a feeling that gives me immense satisfaction. Bhagwan’s exceptional ability as a spiritual leader has made all this possible.

I feel very blessed to be staying at Rajneeshpuram with Bhagwan. Not only during Satsang and Darshan and his daily greetings as he drives by, which goes far beyond any words can describe it, but also to see the joy in people’s eyes and love in their hearts. Bhagwan’s being is in the atmosphere, incomparable to anything I have witnessed during my extensive travels around the world.

I am concerned that the American people and the INS are not aware that it is a blessing beyond any comparison to have an Enlightened Being of Bhagwan’s calibre here, alive at this time. I am endeavoring to convey to you the blessedness of having Bhagwan here. However, may I suggest one of Bhagwan's 300 books which I guarantee will strike a cord in you also.

Bhagwan’s presence here in Oregon has contributed much to the economy. We spend many millions of dollars here, and much, much love. And I feel we would be foolish to throw away the opportunity to advance America in a way it is sorely lacking.

His blessings,
