This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Sw Veet Masaru (Masaru Kaneko). It is "Exhibit A-2349" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

My name is Swami Veet Masaru, a.k.a. Masaru Kaneko.

For about 12 years, I was working at a marine development company in Tokyo. For the last 2 years I worked as a manager for accounting.

In 1977 I read one of His books which is translated into Japanese. I really was impressed by the book. In a few days I started to practice His meditation. I'd been practicing everyday for about 3 months and realised that meditation really set me free from the tensions which I always have been carrying and during the silent parts in the meditation I could feel His presence with joy.

Presently I am a center leader of the Meditation Center in Tokyo, Japan and have been working with many people in the center. People are always working hard but lively and lovely under His guidance.

I participated in the festival this year and saw in the satsang, at his afternoon drive, and everywhere in His presence people were so happy and delightful.

I felt this is really the place which Bhagwan called "Buddhafield", new energy field which in His presence people can easy to grow.

Sincerely yours,

Swami Veet Masaru
