This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Willi Boelcke. It is "Exhibit A-2115" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Aromatherapie Präparate

To whom it may concern

Since 1975, we run a beauty shop and institute in Hamburg, West Germany. We also produce a line of herbal organic cosmetics and beauty products and manufacture our own Perfume (“Astroscope”).

We first heard of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in 1977, and subsequently started reading his books.

We feel, that he not only is one of the greatest philosophers of today, in his books he often touches subjects of science. His knowledge of the human body and nature helped us develop advanced massage techniques, which our staff uses successfully in our institute.

Furhtermore, the growth of our own line of body treatments and perfumes would not have been possible with his invaluable information regarding the human senses and perceptive system.

We highly appreciate the work that is continued now in Rajneeshpuram, Oregon. We think that it is one of the most advanced and fascinating projects of the society today and we are happy that the United States, this land of liberty, is giving Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh the possibility to continue his work,

Yours truly,
[signed]
