Anatta (group)

Anatta was a Pune One bodywork group led by Aneesha. The Community to Provoke God brochure had this to say as a brief description:

Anatta means 'no-self' and the group aims to demonstrate, through practical experience, the day-to-day suffering we put ourselves through because of the ego. The main method used is Radix Education, a combination of neo-Reichian techniques developed by Charles Kelley in California. These work directly with the body to allow emotional release.

It might be said that the suffering is mirrored in the exercises, which are often quite a strain, release from suffering thereby happening when the exercise is over. But more than that, the exercises generate both awareness of body holding patterns and movement of body energy. The combination can be very helpful for some people.

According to the groups timeline chart in The Sound of Running Water, Anatta was offered from Aug 1977 to Mar 1978. It is known to have persisted past that date though; Mar 1978 was just TSORW's cut-off date. Thus it may even have lasted till Osho left for the States, in Jun 1981.
