भोर का आखिरी तारा डूब रहा है। कुहासे में ढंकी सुबह का जन्म होने को है। पूरब पर प्रसव की लाली फैल रही है। | |||
एक मित्र ने एक प्रियजन की मृत्यु की खबर दी है। रात्रि ही देह से उनका संबंध टूटा है। फिर थोड़ी देर चुप्पी के बाद वे मृत्यु पर बात करने लगे हैं। उन्होंने पूछा है : “रोज मृत्यु होती है फिर भी प्रत्येक ऐसे जीता जाता है कि जैसे उसे नहीं मरना है। यह समझ में ही नहीं आता है कि मैं भी मर सकता हूँ। इतनी मृत्यु के बीच यह अमृत्व का विश्वास क्यों है?” | |||
यह विश्वास बहुत अर्थपूर्ण है। यह विश्वास बताता है कि <u>जो देह में जो बैठा है वह मर्त्य नहीं है।</u> वह जो देख रहा है – देह का दृष्टा – वह जानता है कि मैं देह से पृथक् हूँ। मैं मृत्यु नहीं हूँ। वह जान रहा हैः ‘मेरी मृत्यु नहीं है। मृत्यु केवल देह परिवर्तन है। मैं नित्य हूँ : सब मृत्युओं को पार करके भी मैं अमृत शेष रह जाता हूँ। पर यह बोध अचेतन है : इसे चेतन बना लेना ही मुक्त होजाना है। | |||

This is one of hundreds of letters Osho wrote to Ma Anandmayee, then known as Madan Kunwar Parakh. It was written on 22nd November 1961 in the morning.
