Letter written on 7 Sep 1969

Osho wrote many letters in Hindi to Ma Kusum Bharti and her husband Kapil, then of Ludhiana. Most were addressed to Kusum, but always mentioning Kapil too. 27 were published in Prem Ke Swar (प्रेम के स्वर). Sannyas Wiki has images of all of those published in PKS, plus two unpublished ones, plus one in English published in The Gateless Gate.

This letter is dated 7th September 1969, and is published in Prem Ke Swar (प्रेम के स्वर) as letter #7. The letterhead is a typical one of those days, showing a simple all-lower-case "acharya rajneesh" at "kamala nehru nagar" in "jabalapur (m. p.)", with his 4-digit phone number and a two-colour Jeevan Jagriti Kendra logo.

acharya rajneesh kamala nehru nagar : jabalpur (m.p.). phone : 2957 प्यारी कुसुम, प्रेम। तेरा पत्र आता है तो जैसे कोई बंद व्दार खुल जाते हैं और तू किसी अज्ञात-पथ से आकर सामने खडी होजाती है। फिर मैं तेरा पत्र क्या पढता हूँ -- बस तुझसे ही बातें कर लेता हूँ। और पत्र नहीं आता है, तब भी तो तू आती है। आह ! कितने प्रश्न तेरी आंखों में होते हैं -- कितनी जिज्ञासायें -- कितनी खोजें। निश्चय ही लेचलना है तुझे भी प्रभु के मंदिर तक। सीढ़ियों पर तो तू आके खडी हो ही गई है। क्योंकि प्रेम के अतिरिक्त उसकी और कोई सीढ़ियां नहीं है। बेशर्त प्रेम ही तो उसे पाने की एकमात्र शर्त है ! और तुझमें उसकी संभावनायें देखकर कितना खुश होता हूँ -- कैसे कहूँ ? कपिल को प्रेम। और उसके आंसुओं को प्रेम। असंग को आशीष। रजनीश के प्रणाम ७/९/१९६९
