The old info, preserved for historical interest:

Two versions of Hindi translation of The Ultimate Alchemy, Vol 1 have emerged from the Void. Little is known about this one and its 6-chapters-each companions and even less is known about the other, published by Lokbharti Prakashan.

A few copies of these various volumes have turned up in a library in Italy but because this volume (sort-of Bhag-1) and the Lokbharti one have the same title, they are easy to get confused. FWIW, the library is the Open Library system of Venezia, which has 17 other Osho books along with the three below, in Hindi, English and Italian. The list of all of them, with links to the individual books, is at [1]; the three books relevant here are:

• Ātma-Pūjā Upanishad / Bhagvan Shree Rajneesh - Allahabad : lokbharti Prakashan, 1978. - 471 p. ; 23 cm ((Front. trasl. dall'hindi.
• Ātm-Pūjā Upanishad. Bhāg 2 / Bhagvan Shree Rajneesh - Puna : Rajneesh Foundation, 1980. - 208 p. ; 18 cm. ((Front. trasl. dall'hindi.
• Ātm-Pūjā Upanishad. Bhag 3 (about which nothing more was said)

It will be observed that the Lokbharti edition is much longer than the Bhag-2, thus containing translations of possibly all 18 talks of UA Vol 1, or possibly not.

Fortunately, the e-books at Osho World's Hindi e-book section and other fine purveyors have sorted out a few things. Not only are they available to be read, for those who can read Hindi, but they supply a bit of bibliographic information, such as their discourse dates, which helped to establish their relationship with UA Vol 1. And the two cover images, since the images OW uses for its e-books are usually faithful to some known hard copy. And by using the Bhag-2 info from the Venezia library, we can infer fairly safely the publisher for Bhag-3 and not-quite-Bhag-1 and possibly approximate page counts, assuming the e-books to be somewhat proportional to their hard copy, though for now have estimated page count based on audio lengths reported at osho.com. -- doofus-9 (talk) 21:40, 10 November 2014 (PST)

June 2017 Update

A series of images, of covers, publishing info pages and contents pages derived from real, identifiable hard copy has been forwarded by Osho's brother Shailendra for various editions of Atma-Puja Upanishad. They make it clear that much of what passed for info previously was inadequate at best and in some respects very misleading. This volume was the worst.

First, the image on the right: It was believed to be an image of the cover of this volume since, as reported above, it accompanies Osho World's e-book corresponding to this volume. Not only do we now have a different image for this volume but that poor image on the right is actually a tiny version of another book's cover, an 18-chapter translation of the whole of Ultimate Alchemy Vol 1. It does not completely rule out that there is a book somewhere published by someone with this cover which has a translation of the first six chapters of UA Vol 1, but that edition will have to show up to reinstate this image as a valid one for these six talks.

Second, the image also gives the strong impression that "Bhag 1" is not a valid part of the title. "Bhag 1" is not on the cover image, therefore and QED. Since it is the wrong image, that notion can also go out to pasture. In fact, even where the image is known to belong, with the 2014 Diamond edition of Atma-Puja Upanishad, Bhag 1 (आत्म-पूजा उपनिषद, भाग 1) (UA-1, 18 talks), the image is mistaken, in that the inner title page for that book does have a "भाग 1". So, bad cover! Go and sit in the corner!

And one last nail in the coffin of even thinking this could have belonged with a 1980 edition, only noticed now, is the presence of "ओशो" on the cover, making it irrefutably ≥1989. So the editor (mostly me) can sit in the corner as well.

The new images of the cover and accompanying info pages establish that there was a Rajneesh Foundation edition in 1980 of the first six chapters of UA Vol 1, and this is it! And since Bhag-2 and Bhag-3 have at least text in the Osho World e-book collection, they can come along for the ride.
