This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. Information about their collection of these letters and other supporting material -- the "Jeffrey Noles Rajneesh Collection", named for Osho's immigration lawyer Jeffrey Noles, who compiled them in 1983 and donated them to the OHS -- can be found at this page. The wiki is grateful to the OHS for making access available for these documents. For more information and links to all the letters, see Testimonial letters.

This letter is from Ron Wallach. It is "Exhibit A-1221" in the Noles collection.

The text version below has been created by optical character recognition (OCR), from the images supplied by OHS. It has not been checked for errors but this process usually results in over 99% correct transcription. Most apparent "errors" are correct transcriptions of typos already in the original. The image on the right in the text box links to a pdf file of the original letter, it has one page.

Wallach is also the author of another letter, written eight days later. There is enough commonality between the two letters to establish definitively that the same one person has written both letters, not two different people with the same name. There are 22 other such cases known. We may be amused by the illicit possibilities here but just as likely he was simply giving the organizers two letters to choose from. In fact, his other letter is as a sannyasin, giving an entirely different angle. See also Testimonial letters#duplication for more on this.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter as a supporter of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. My name is Ron Ron Wallach. I am a consultant in the area of Stress Management for the U.S Office of Education, the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, School Districts, Colleges and Universities (U.C. Berkeley), health care organizations, and businesses. I have degrees from Penn State University and the University of Louisville — graduated with a Phi Beta Kappa.

The writings, teachings, and philosophies of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh have been a major, positive influence on my teaching and consulting career for five years. I have used his meditation techniques and his teachings as the main basis of my seminars with great success. I have seen hundreds of people's lives blossom with health and happiness as a result of being exposed to Bhagwan's teachings. I consider him to be one of the most brilliant and influential teachers I have ever encountered.

Rajneesh is a spiritual leader, teacher, and philosopher of international caliber. Histhree hundred thirty six books have been translated into all major languages — to be enjoyed and of benefit to people all over the world. These writings are worthy of Nobel prize consideration. Rajneesh is a teacher of world-wide stature— one that is encountered very rarely. He is an international genius.

Very truly yours,
