Communiqués

The wiki has received copies of some dispatches from ashram / commune / resort authorities to inform the wider sannyas family as to "newsy" developments. They were not distributed via publications or press releases, rather via centers and other "family" networks. They come in different forms, being produced in different circumstances and eras. More can be said about their different forms and their commonalities later, as more come in. The table below presents a linked index of what we have so far.

Among the more still to come in are of course many unknown, and even undreamed-of, but there are a few we can be relatively sure are "out there somewhere". These include:

1. ~Jan-Feb 1996: Garimo, in her address to commune members in Jul 1996 refers to a meeting in Jan of that year in which "we gave a very big update on Osho's work", referring both to work in the commune and in the world. There is every reason to believe a report of this meeting was similarly distributed to the centers.
2. ~1998: What is an Osho? was a breezy, ostensibly light-hearted circular sent to all the centers authored by Amrito which attempted to, among other things, redefine the master-disciple relationship, to the point of cancelling it. Text for this thought-piece is available at the linked page but an image of the original would be good to add to this collection of dispatches.
3. ~1998-1999(?): Letter of Understanding: This refers to not information distributed but a request, to all receiving it to keep Osho pure, 24-carat gold, by adhering to certain principles and acknowledging the primacy of OIF in such matters. It was distributed to center leaders and everyone practicing therapy or running groups or events in Osho's name. The wiki has neither the text of this letter nor an image and would love to be able to document this important bit of sannyas history.

Oct 14 1985	fax from Sw Prem Jayadip reporting on a phone call from Hasya concerning developments in the late Ranch era, sent to European centers
Jul 16 1996	transcription of an address in Buddha Hall by Garimo about some changes in the commune, having to do with welcoming protocols, hepatitis C and White Robe, plus lots of sannyas social history
