The salutation appears to be a previously unseen "Chidatman", with a squiggle under the "n", likely a virama cancelling the inherent vowel. The same salutation has emerged in [[Letter written on 12 May 1964|another typed letter from May 1964]] with a less ambiguous virama. In that case, Chidatman is not a name, since the addressee is known. We are awaiting transcription and translation.

The recipient /addressee is [[Manubhai Deshai]] (last name uncertain as of this writing). Two other letters to him can be found at [[Letter written on 12 Jan 1963 am]] and [[Letter written on 26 May 1963]], both handwritten.
